I waited at least 10 years to dread my hair

I had a good friend who had his hair dreaded when I was 11, at that point I had used hair wraps and put my hair into tiny braids but I was always told that my hair would never dread because it was too thin and to fine, I was told it would never stay. I would stay up late at night and backcomb small portions of my hair and wake up in the morning and it was back to normal, as straight as an arrow. Well since the 20's are the age that you really start to challenge all of the 'definites' that you are taught in life, I dove in head first if you will. Although there are times that I miss running my fingers through hair (my husband shaves his head) I would have a hard time letting go of my babies now if it did not serve a very good purpose
