i'll come back in a year and prove you wrong
since dreadlocksite started 3 years ago about a dozen people said they were going to use wax the dread kit and/or crochet for a year and come back and prove us wrong (mostly its been young kids around 15-16) they stubbornly refuse to listen to logic and reason, let alone benefit from the experiences of thousands who had used those things before and regretted it.
so i just want to remind yas
we still want you to come back and show us the results
seems like it would n=make it extra dificult and only way to feed the hair thru would be ue a hook
I wasn't either. They way she described it, you take a section of hair and feed it through the hole with the tip facing the scalp. Once it's sectioned, back comb it. She said it keeps the section from getting outside hairs tangled in it. Seems kind of pointless to me and that it would cause bald spots to show up in between locks
a funnel?
not even sure how that would work
I was going to make a new post about this, but this seems good enough.
So I went shopping for groceries today at my local whole foods. I was standing at the deli counter and one of the girls looks at me and starts to tell me that she is a hairdresser, and that she loves my locks. She wanted to have a few minutes with them to decorate them up a bit. I got a little nervous and defensive. I grabbed them and said no way.
She then explained that she just wanted to arrange them andstylizethem. Not cut or add product. I started talking to her about it, and she told me theweirdestthing about how she starts locks for people. She said that she used a funnel to section off hair and then back combed them. I've never heard of using a funnel before. Seemed kind of strange to me. Has anyone else heard of this?
I told her that I didn't like locks that were made like that because they looked too cookie cutter. And told her about this site. Maybe she'll drop in a learn a hing or 2. We'll find out
Nice post SE...
I do have a friend who used wax to start years before I did, and her's are looking good, but I know that if she washed them out, she'd see that they aren't as mature as they look. I think she only used it a few times in the beginning. But that just means that the wax is now stuck deeper inside the core of her locks, and not only on the surface.
I'd love to tell her about the damage it does, but she's on the road all the time and never stays in one place for more than a month. SO I rarely see her. And when I do, I don't want to ruin that reunion with dropping truth on her, like that
If you can hit me up with names, I'd be willing to e-mail then in a year and ask them to come back with a review. Not sure if that's appropriate, but I'd be willing
If you don't hear back, that says enough for wax, etc!
I feel sorry for their hair.
