Use this to get the wax out, even just using wax once; http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/a-couple-of-questions-about-dawn-soap-and-wax-removal

Dreads will never be healthy with the wax in

u can use WaxBGone from DreadlockShampoo.com to get it out also $15...good luck

wax holds in water, smells, dirt, can catch fire, glues hair together, does not allow it to dread properly

Peace

Welcome to the community Jesse. How are you planning to grow your dreads? Free form/neglect is best, then twist & rip (T&R) is second best. Start off by reading the Dreaducation Section at the top of the site. a great place to begin for all your information. I started off with the T&R method (only due to impatience, but wish I went fully neglect as it is a faster journey), but I have tips on one of my postings that can help you along the way: (Dead URL) http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect/a>

If you have any questions, make a post and ask, many members will help you out, or send me a question. We will all get you on a happy journey this time around....Peace
