Welcome. Eagle's right about having to remove the wax, no matter how long ago it was used.

Wax is a hydrocarbon. It will NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. It does melt in hot water, but then it just gets spread around your locks. It can even melt into parts of your locks that you never used wax on before.

And crocheting will do a ton of damage. It breaks hairs into smaller and smaller pieces. This makes locks weak and can make them break in places, even at the root leaving a bald spot. The same goes with latch hooking.

The powder really is an illusion. You can use a sea salt solution and get a better result, and not have random residue left in your hair.

theres several

but if u used wax no matter how long ago u got to remove it! bget the wax b gone and get it out

locking powder does nothing..it creates an illusion only

u can do the same woith dirt

in fact google each of dreadheadhqs ingredients and u get ..clay..snd..tree sap (in soil organic matter or fertalizer) and a herbacide to prevent plants from growing in the dirt u just put in in fact google the entire ingredirnts list (minus wintergreen i think) and u get a product made to remove the ear hair from cats

the powder sticks to the hair making it seem more "grippy" hence you belu-ieve its more knotty but rince awaway the dirt and theres no more knots

how can powder assist in knotting? it cant

wax ..they say never use residue in shampoo residies oike perfumes well to smell perfume the molicules must be airborn..constantly evaporating

wax on the other hand hardens over y=time

it glues hair together to look more dreaded but prevents anty actual dreading and 10 years later u still cant wash it out its evil

it traps dirt and water causing a swampy condition and dread rot the dreads get stiffand hard too

crochet and latching your breking aton of hair causing the loose hairs your trying to fix the dreads get weaker and weaker till they fall of from a showers water pressure

neglecting should be what yiur doing but with seperation and washong washing and seperating are ll dreads ever need

anything beyond thats just harming them

srry let me explain crochets an epidemic in the worklsd now its extremelt destructive when iu pull in 5 hairs u break 10 theres no "special technique" to avoiding hair breakage it breaks no matter how you do it

it also makes them way too tight and stiff so they take a minumum of 6 months longerto dread if only done ones

criochets a horible method that should never be used on dreads..ever

it needs to be stamped out

what products do u use most products locticians use are a dissteer

do u use wax?

wax is the number 1 cause of dreads being cut
