Welcome. You don't need any products. All you need to do it wash and separate. TnR is the best alternative to natural.

For African textured hair, you may need some extra moisture. Aloe works for this. Jojoba oil is best

u wont need products except moisture as usual (if your hairs more afrianish wish seems to be dominant in most cases) if not then avoid all products just wash

throw the hook away and let them recover but crochet recovery takes a very long time

Welcome. I'd elaborate, but it looks like Cupcake and Adam said it for me. Back combing isn't terrible. Not the healthiest. But, by far, not the worst method to start growing locks. Crocheting is, though, the worst thing that can be done to locks.

Cupcake is right. When you crochet you break hairs, thus weakening the dread. If you do it often it can even cause dreads to break off. It generally takes the dread 6 months to recover after it has been crocheted. Have a good read of the dreaducation tab for more information.
