Welcome. If you twist once, to start, never retwist. That method creates a condition called traction alopecia. It will lead directly to baldness.

And you should definitely wash more than once a months. Even though they don't smell, they are not clean,. Dirty hair does not lock up well

dont twist, just dont brush your hair. you can start now, the healthiest way for your hair to dread is neglecting it, wash it a couple times a week and just dont brush. even your short hair will start to separate itself at least a little bit.

Welcome. You should use the natural method. It produces healthy and great looking dreads. All that is needed is washing and separation when they begin to grow together.
