Most people who tell you to do it tell you while they are still doing it, so they haven't had locks long enough to see the damage it does. The harm palm rolling causes is not noticeable for about a year. You won't see any problems until your hair grows out a few inches. Then you'll see that it severely thinned out your roots. Once this happens, it's nearly impossible to fix. I palm rolled for the first 2 weeks, and 7 years later I'm still trying to fix the damage
