I read your blog posts and everything, and honestly, you shouldn't worry so much about loose ends or whatever. Or how far other people have come. Everyone's hair is different and dreads and different rates, but I promise you, it will dread on its own. It's loose because it's only been a couple of months, and the fact that you crochet it probably doesn't help, because...dreads tighten up on their own. You don't need to do anything, just have to be patient. I used to look at my hair all the time to see any progress, but SE gave some awesome advice on not looking in the mirrors, not messing with your hair so much, just letting it do its thing, and since I've done that Im happy with the progress, because you don't worry so much about it. Seriously, I know it's hard, but just try to be patient and it will definitely pay off. Also, I know washing it makes it look messy and like it's undoing the progress, but washing definitely helps. Dreadlocks are messy when you first start them out, it's normal.
