welcome read the dreaducation page then change how you think of dreads dont say "get dreads" instead grow dreads its not something you buy or get "installed " or "put in" by a salon or technician

dreads are something yiu grow from the depths of yoir soul they pop out o n your head when yoiur truly ready to dread

Welcome. Check out the dreaducation page first. There's a ton of info there on how to grow healthy locks. Then look at the timeline forums to see what the coming weeks, months and years will be like

welcome but that would be a huge mistake the kits are a scam and disaster if you dont want to continue neglect (wich is by far the vest way) then just use twist n rip use nothing but yoir hands..completely free

the kits are 1 of the worse mistakes you can make and they wont last

look aro8nd everyone who used a kit started over

Welcome. Why would you want to use a kit? Wax completely prevents locking. And tools destroy your hair. PLus they are way to expensive.

Welcome. If you are currently doing the natural (neglect) method, stick with it. If you use another method you will set yourself back to the very start. Besides, the dreads kits are a complete scam. Not only is backcombing a damaging method, but the wax is one of the very worst things you can do to dreads. If you must use a starter method, neglect for a few weeks and then Twist and Rip the sections that form. No wax, no kit, just fingers.

Remember, whichever method you choose, wash 1-3 times per week with a non-residue shampoo and separate the sections when they grow too big (anything over 1 square inch) and when dreads start growing together.
