wax bglues hair together to resembvle dreads while preventing any actual dreading they will never dread with wax in them it never washes out and traps dirt and water and causes them to rot from the inside wax is the number 1 cause of dreads being cut its gross but luckily we have ways to remove wax anhbd save youir dreads

Welcome. What products? And are you still washing them every day, even after 5 years? How thin are they are they can dry out in time? Even if they are the size of pencils, 5 year old locks should never be washed every day. That is inviting mold to grow
