welcome definately give natural a try and im sureit will dread quickly but not so over night that your gf freaks out and runs away it will give her a chance tget used to it as it happens

I started with very short hair, shorter than you would expect it to start to easily dread. 5 months on, and I have loads of baby dreads. I really would recommend natural. If she's worried, show her the timeline forums to show her that everyone goes through those messy stages. Your locks will look goofy and messy for a while. They aren't doing anything that shouldn't happen. Everyone goes through it. There's no way to prevent it without destroying your hair.
