Welcome to the community. How curly is your hair? Check my page for a comparison. Curly hair tend to dread quite fastnaturally. If your looking for the healthiest method, this is it. I started with very short hair, shorter than you would expect it to start to easily dread. 5 months on, and I have loads of baby dreads. I really would recommend natural. Many people regret not having gone all natural, only to brush them out and start again, so it's something that you may want to consider.

Welcome. But remember, even though curly hair may lock up somewhat quicker, it doesn't mean you'll have locks right away. Mature locks take about a year to form. If she's worried, show her the timeline forums to show her that everyone goes through those messy stages. Your locks will look goofy and messy for a while. They aren't doing anything that shouldn't happen. Everyone goes through it. There's no way to prevent it without destroying your hair.

Good luck

Welcome to the community. Baba is dead right. You should look into the BS/ACV rinses.

Welcome. What are you using to actually wash your hair? Essential oils are great for their scent and medicinal uses. But they don't actually clean your hair and scalp.
