No problem. I just want to help you grow the healthiest locks you can.

First thing first. You've been using whatever shampoo you can get? There is probably a ton of residue in your hair. Just about all shampoos leave residue, not just conditioners. So get a small bottle of clarifying shampoo. A small bottle because you will only be using it once or twice.

Wash your hair with that shampoo twice to get all of the residue out that has been building up. Normally all you want to do is wash your scalp. But because of the length of time you used normal shampoo, wash each lock too. Do your locks feel heavy? I know that 6 years of growing locks add weight, but even Eagle says his locks aren't that heavy. Residue will weigh down your hair.

Once all of the crap is out of your hair, look into dreadlockshampoo.com. There stuff is the best. It works in all water types. And it smells outstanding. All you want to do is scrub your scalp. You can use either the bar or the liquid, but if your roots are thinning out, use the liquid. It will help promote them to tangle more. Once they have healed and are stronger, you can switch to the bar if you want.

If you can't afford those soaps (they really are worth the price), you can wash with Baking soda and Apple cider vinegar. mix 1/2 cup BS to 5 cups of water. If you need more, add 1 cup BS to 10 cup water. Pour that on your scalp and let it sit there for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off really well. Then mix 1/4-1/2 cup ACV to 5 cups of water. pour that on, let it sit for about a minute and wash it off. You can add any essential oils you want to both washes. But for a healthy scalp and to promote hair growth, use rosemary and teatree oils

The way to keep the healthy is to not maintain them at all. Just wash and separate. Any maintenance you do will only promote them to thin out more and possibly even fall out completely. The chemicals they used really took a toll on your hair and scalp. Get a good natural non residue soap to clean your scalp with. What have you been using to wash?

Welcome. You're not happy with how your hair is thinning out. I have the cure for that. NEVER get it "done". salons ruin locks. They use only damaging methods and products. Wax, gels, crocheting, interlocking. All of it, is destroying your locks.

Do you know what they used to start them?

Welcome. Back combing is ok, but TnR is much gentler on your hair
