Welcome. But crocheting is the most damaging thing that can be done to locks. I hope you didn't pay them.

Crocheting once to start is bad, but not destroying. It will, however, delay any progress by about 6 months. And 6 more months for each time you crochet after that.

All that method is good for is ripping your hair into smaller and smaller pieces which causes weak, frizzy and stiff locks. I know the desire to have locks right away can be overwhelming, but it just doesn't work that way. Locks need time to grow and mature. There's nothing that can be done to grow mature locks in days.
