I just read this article that was posted years ago but has a strong thread that I think is good for beginners like us to read.

Thank you I'm going to take the bands out today. Should I just keep palm rolling the sections to keep them together? They don't seem tight at the root . I've been sleeping with them all pulled back in a rubber band

welcome but absolutely do not ever let wax touch your dreads
and take out the rubber bands right away rubber bands are nothing but trouble and wax ius a dread destroyeer
read up on here bout all the dreads destroyed by wax
