seriously. do we stand and think hoax? knowing these pictures are real. It is real whats happening. do we stand aside and give our judgement on something right infront of our face? We know its real. if its a scam.. we dont have to donate. all we have to do is share the video. aye!!
Though it's great to raise more awareness of the problems in other countries, stopping people being so sheltered and apathetic towards human suffering, there are a couple of problems with it. The biggest being that as soon as you say "Africa," most people will think of a bunch of kids running around with guns, or a bunch of starving, AIDS-ridden people. Put so much attention on the negativity and not enough on the good parts, and people will get the wrong impression, and that's how all kinds of naivety-related intolerance begins. The other problem being that, while it's great to help others all over the world, it seems like undeserved arrogance to help people in other countries when your own country still has countless people suffering and struggling.
There is much talk about it obviously. Some good ,some bad, some is just weird. I even heard a conspiracy story about a religious tie in. I think its a great way to focus more eyes on Africa's multiple problems and is a great showing of the power of social media combined with one persons first steps to a larger goal.
