are u african american? moistures essentu=ial to frican hair that gets exstreemely brittle and dry

but other hair types wont dread at all with all the conditioning

u shouldnt be messing with them at all finger twisting might create knots 1 day then destri[oy the knots the next

you want the hair on the dry side to dread

thats why ppl use sea salt accelerators ti dry up the oils and give it texture

I can relate to your profile writings & am glad you are now doing something for yourself. For washing, you can also use baking soda washes & apple cider vinegar rinses (recipes on the dreaducation page).

In the beginning, was 2-3 times per week. Dilute 1/2 cup of baking soda into 5 cups of water and pour on head. This is a no scrub method, you just let it sit on for 10-20 minutes. You can also add a few drops of essential oil into the wash if you like. After rinsing well, mix 1-2 capfuls (depending on hair length) with 5 cups water, pour on head and leave on 1-2 minutes and rinse well. This conditions the hair and balances the PH. This can be used in place of dreadlock shampoo and bars.

Enjoy your new life's journey, Peace

welcome but nutragena isnt residue free its a residue stripper and extremely toxic made to only be used a few times a year

an all natural shampoo like www.dreadlockshampoo.com is a far better choice

save the nutragena for anytime u get buildup from anything

Welcome. But don't bother palm rolling. It only does 1 of 2 things. if you don't do it much, it doesn't do anything to create lasting knots. If you do it enough to see progress, it actually is doing severe harm to your roots. I did it for 2 weeks, daily, in the very beginning, and 6 years later I am still trying to fix the damage
