welcome home brothers and sisters, this years gathering site will be announced later then usual, due to the truly massive areas being scouted.
the gathering maybe in any 1 of 8 states, covering a 2000 by 1000 mile area. some scoutting focus has been on vermont and south dakota, however no site will be picked till after june 17th at the very earliest.
I will update this as more info becomes available
the gathering is from july 1 to july 7
with seed camp before that and cleanup after

the gathering is being held in the sacred black hills, sacred to several tribes especcially the lakota
there have been a very small number of lakota protesting the gathering in the blkoack hills ( the numbers of people protesting are between 2 and 7) while the rest of the lakota people welcome the rainbow family gathering wholeheartedly
because this is a sacred land, i would personaly request that people approach this years gathering as a most sacred gathering, spiritual and leave anything negative like alcahol behind

Updated directions From Rapid City, SD, take Hwy 16 south west to Hill City, SD (about 30 miles). In Hill City go to the intersection of Hwy 16 and Main St and head west on Main (shown as 308 on maps). Take this to Deerfield road and continue northwest (left) for about 17 miles to Deerfield Lake on your right. Just past the lake make a left on Ditch Creek Road. Then take the first right onto FR 294 and over a bridge. Drive about 5 miles on FR 294 to Welcome Home
it depends where it ends up, but even then its goingto be very hard to make it but if its vermont i sure will try
It will take a small miracle for me to make it all the way over there. So most likely I will miss the gathering once again. I am always there, and it in my mind, spirit and soul.
