ive used this stuff before I know that it has petroleum and or mieral oil. I had my cousin (who has dreadlocks) pick up a bottle but I told him, if it has petroleum and or mineral oil just leave it alone. what I do for moisture is use some extra virgin olive oil, jojoba oil and put it in one of those applicator bottles get your entire head oiled. let that sit for a couple hours or over night using a shower cap. (make sure that you use and put them over your pillow. then wash it out in the morning. you can do this once a month or two weeks depending on how your hair responds to it. this will leave your hair moisturized without tugging on each strand like you would be with this product. for this wash I don't recommend the BS wash, Id go with dr bonners that way you can scrub all of the excess oils out.
