Amanda, if a castile works for you the one you mentioned is no better or worse than Dr. Bs. I just don't recommend them for new dreads. I know that's gonna cause a bit of an uproar among the faithful, but if you have Caucasian hair and it's not super curly or course, it's just too much oil. while you are wondering around Walgreens, take a look in their soaps and grab you a bar of shea moisture's raw shea, about $5. See what it does. I also like their head to toe baby wash. bunches of hand made bars out there are fabulous. with new locks look for coconut or palm oils as your main oils.

my apologies for taking so long to get back to you.

Welcome. But Palm rolling doesn't do anything to create lasting knots. And only doing it that infrequently will not d anything for your locks progress. Unless you do it so aggressively that you see progress. Then it will only destroy your locks.

Welcome to the community Amanda. Up at the top of the page is a tab members , if you click on that a page will open, at the top are sections of specialists on this site, there is one for shampoo ingredients experts . Click on that and it will get you the members that can answer the Ology question for you. Many soaps and shampoos for dreads do not work well in hard water, they leave a residue build up. Here is a map so you can see what type of water you have in your area. Enjoy the site and have a fantastic journey....Peace
