Thank you guys for the love and support. since I joined this site I stopped using regular shampoo and conditioner, now all I do is wash my hair with baking soda and acv. I've had some dandruf problems here and there, but that has not discouraged me, and I'm determined to never going back to putting chemicals in my head. @ Barrellady, thank you for the advice on the biotin, my hair is about 6" on the front and about 5" on the rest of the head. as of today I haven't combed my hair for one week and I'm very excited to see how my hair is curling up and separating itself. I hope that my hair is not too short to dread yet...

Welcome to the site Noe. There is a products called Biotin which promotes hair growth. You can take it for 3 months to help speed up your growth, as dreads form better with hair 6 inches or longer.

Biotin can be found for a low cost at your local drug store in the vitamin section. Glad you are searching ahead of time to make a good decision for yourself. Peace

Welcome to the community Daniel. Please read the dreaducation pages found at the top of the site and read the section on WAX. We all here recommend that you get the wax out of your hair right away. Wax never allows hair to form into real dreads, wax holds in water pockets causing mold, wax stains pillow cases, clothing, wax causes acne and other skin problems, wax can catch fire, wax sucks in lint-pollution-and any other crap.

You deliberately used wax, your choice, but please please read the section on it. You MAY change your mind after that. If you need help on how to remove it, just ask.

Peace
