Hey there! I'm new to this site, but it seems like the best place I've found so far to get great advice on caring for my lil' hair snakes.
I started my dreadlocks on just the lower half of my head a year ago, via backcombing and crochet. And just as one would expect, I suffered the consequences of hittin' the crochet hook too hard.  I've since been letting them be and showing them some TLC and I think they'll recover just fine. I did however start up most of the rest of my head o' hair about a month agoand have taken a much gentler route, (a little finger backcombing to get 'em started and lots of palmrolling and cleanliness) and so far I am pleased with how they are coming out! Much more natural and bendy and soft. Just thought I'd join up here to help me through any road bumps I may come across. Happy trails!

"Thank you for the welcome! And yes, I learned the hard way with the hook... "it'll work great!" they say, "your dreads will look mature real fast!" they say...."

palm rolling does absolutely nothing helpful but can cause friction damage and weaken roots
