Welcome to the community newbke. Glad you found the best site on the web for honest and healthy dread information. How did you start your dreads? To get you started, read the Dreaducation section at the top of the site, it will answer many questions you might have. I am not sure where you live in the states, so here is a map to let you know what water type you have. Many soaps and shampoos leave behind a residue inside dreads if used with hard water, not sure what the mango & lime spray you use is like or if it is good for dreads. If you do have hard water, the best shampoo and bars for dreads are made by a member on this site @ DreadlockShampoo.com. Vickie also makes dread accelerators to help the journey. Any questions, we are all here to help you keep your journey happy and healthy....Peace
Welcome to the community Melanie and to your new journey. Check out some timelines from other members, some knot up quickly, some do not, everyone is different. Growing your own will take 1-2 years to mature, but well worth the wait....Peace
