From Atlanta and have been living in Madrid for 1 year and a half. I study International Relations. Learning about politics and living in Spain have been the main contributors to my self discovery and my attempt to live sustainable. Living a sustainable and self-aware lifestyle is how I spend my free time outside of class. This includes consuming from local markets and second hand shops, learning how to recycle and re-use everything, cooking only fresh vegan food, and cycling everywhere in the city. Attending yoga classes daily and weekly Flamenco, Afro-beat, Bollywood, and types of Latin dance classes keep me active and in touch with my body and soul. Movement and mindfulness are my mottos. Traveling is my passion, and I prefer to travel and volunteer in the destination's local community in order to learn about foreign lifestyles. I recently returned from 10 weeks of solo traveling and volunteering in Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and Slovenia.
I have accepted that living in Madrid is nice, but I find myself at peace when I am in the wild. My hometown which is south of Atlanta, Georgia is surrounded by forests. Any landscape that I visit with alot of trees, grass, and sun shining, I am automatically in my habitat. I want to be where I can't escape from the wild, but also in a place where I am not in my comfort zone, because nothing grows there. This is why I like to travel; because visiting new places teaches you something new, or breaks a misconception that you may have had. The nature of a place tells you something about yourself. Mother nature has given me the truest answers.
