hi! welcome to the site the method i used is natural/freeform. i stopped brushing my hair on september 23, 2010. it took about 5 -6 months for knots to start forming. i really didn't see a ton of knotting until after a year. i tried a lot of washing methods. we have hard water which makes it really hard to get my hair really clean. i recently purchased a shower filter which is helping a lot. right now i'm using some natural/organic shampoo from the health food store. i kind of switch around what i wash with. i get bored with the same routine. i would suggest you start out with the bs wash. you can find the recipe on the forum. skip the acv rinse until your hair starts to lock up. the bs wash will help give your hair the grip it needs to knot up. good luck and remember its a journey not a race:)
