Though Fox's diving show "Stars in Danger" did a total belly flop in the ratings, that hasn't swayed ABC from moving ahead with "Splash," the (new) name of its celebrity diving show that'll premiere Tuesday, March 19. LOL
With back combing, I recommend doing it very gently. Back combing does some damage just from the torque you put on your hair. It's not the worst method, and many people have done it and love it. So don't worry about it. The only things i'd recommend is that you be careful where you put your sections. If they are too big or hang on a strange spot, it can hurt your scalp and give you a headache when they are longer and heavier. If they start to split into 2 locks, let them.
Welcome. Stopping crocheting is great. It only destroys your locks. Each and every time you poke a hole into your locks you break hairs which weakens your locks.
But... Stopping using wax isn't enough. It's good that you don't use it anymore. But Wax NEVER washes out if normal soap and water. It's a hydrocarbon. It may get compressed deep into the core of your locks, but it isn't gone. It needs a detergent to get it out. If you don't remove the wax, it will only cause serious problems like mold and rot.
Eagle or I can help you get the wax out. Or you can check the recovery forums and dreaducation page for tips.
And as for palm rolling: It only does 1 of 2 things. If you do it once in a while and lightly, it does absolutely nothing. It doesn't even create lasting knots. If you do, however, see knots forming, you are doing it to much and too aggressively. That will irrevocably destroy your roots. Check my page for my video on how damaging only 2 weeks of palm rolling is
