It looks a wonderful idea, just do abit of sea salt spray now and when your in a car have the window wound down so the wind can help the dreads to tangle.
Bands have been taken out. except for the one that keeps my hairwrap from unknotting my dread and falling out because the knots aren't tight yet(this happened when i took the rubber band out for a day) but it's not tight, just tight enough to keep the hair wrap from tugging down (beads on it are a little heave i guess)
Than wraps are ok, but the bands will only harm you progress. Because they are elastic, they pinch really tightly around your locks. This creates weak spots that may or may not recover. Beads act like imitation knots to help jump start real knotting. Plus they can look awesome and cute in your hair
Take the rubber bands out. They could melt into the dread and rot in there.
Use beads instead, beads help the process, without causing harm.
I think what you have done will absolutely help the process, as long as the rubber bands arn't too tight' as you probably know rubber can cut into the hair, but yours look OK.
Where you have done the individual bands is a great idea as your leaving the spaces of hair between them to beable to get in touch with the elements of the sun, wind and rubbing against your pillow when you sleep, if there too covered the hair can't knot up. You'll see with the others as time goes and even the thread may matt in too, which looks cool
