Yup, just wash, separate and love them. What you hair is doing is one of the greatest things natural dreads can do. I know SE and Baba Fats already said it, but you need to remove the wax and not twist or palm roll. To remove the wax, use Dawn dish soap and the hottest water you can stand, do that a couple times a week for a few weeks. The wax can't be washed out with regular dread or non-residue shampoos. Dreadlockshampoo.com has a good wax remover as well. The twisting or rolling will break hairs causing weak spots that can eventually break the dreadie off of done a lot. If you haven't done it much then no biggie really. Check out the dreaducation, dread maintenance and some timeline pages. Baba fats also has some really good tutorial vids on his page, check those out too. Remember, no question is too silly to ask. If you have something you'd like to know about, ask away! That's why we're here
Right on. I just checked out that pic. It's kinda a relief because I was starting to think they might stay this way. So my best bet is to just let them do their own thing and justseparatethem and they will eventually tighten up ant look more like your after photo? Please help because I live in Indiana and don't know anyone at all that has dreads out here. I am relocating soon to Colorado but until then I don't have anyone to ask questions or to let me know if I doing it right or not.
I just posted a pic of one of my dreads that used to look just like these....
