Vegetarian or Omnivorous?

In talking with my husband in a round about way about living on a big piece of land with a bunch of others, growing our own food, doing the whole sustainable living thang....he says 'as long as there is mean, I'm not doing some fucking vegetarian shit' lol

I've had my veggie moments in life and he's fully supported it, but it's just not his thing. He likes meat. So I'm wondering...in the grand scheme of things, if this were to happen, would we raise our own animals for food? I know there are some strickly vegan/vegetarian co-op/communes out there, is that one of the budding visions for this project?

Just curious.
