Welcome. With a starter method like TnR, that's all you need. But just in case you didn't know already, starter methods still take about a year to form mature locks. They will untangle and retangle for about 6 months. All you did was create a rough blueprint for where you want your locks to be. Many will probably form there. Some may congo with others, some may move completely. When they start to congo, just separate them.
Just don't freak out when they come unraveled in the shower. This is part of the process
Welcome to the community Pernille, the best site on the web for healthy dread information. All hair WILL dread, anyone who says otherwise is misinformed or after your money. Healthy dreads are not instant, but they will last you a lifetime.
Go to the Dreaducation section near the top of the site and read up on the different methods your hair WILL dread with. No products are needed to grow healthy dreads, none! This is what wax in your hair will do:
trap water inside the sections causing mold to grow
hold in smells
hold in pollution, dust etc
may cause acne break outs due the the wax getting soft in warm weather
will stain pillow cases
will stain clothing, especially the shoulder area
will catch fire easily and be almost impossible to put out unless you are by water
will make them stiff and heavy, causing scalp issues and pulled out hairs
they are not dreads if they are glued together hairs with wax, they are just an imitation of dreads
Dreads should be lightweight and fly with the gentle breeze. Dreads should cost NOTHING.
Please read that section before your Friday appointment, then if you still decide to go that route, then we will be here to help you when you need it. Peace
Welcome. What do you mean " where to go" and "no locks for you"? dreadlocks form from not brushing your hair, and keeping it clean. You don't need, nor should you ever let someone do anything to your locks.
