I don't think so. You'll probably always have some residue in there. If you read the DREAD WAX TRUTH at the top there are a few methods for wax removals that you can try if you haven't yet

ok good but id try to do a removal of wax if u feel confident they;ll hold together or well even if your not cause they'll dread better without it

Welcome Just make sure you get it out because it doesn't come out on it's own...there a guy here who only waxed twice and found that he had black nasty wax buildup in his dreads for over a year :/

welcome but how can u be sure the wax is long gone many many ppl find they used it once and it was still there after 6 years of washing u need to take agressive steps to remove wax it should never ever be put in dreads its evil and almost impossible to removewe are working on a dread wax removal soap as well as a dread rot (caused by wax) cure
