I feel ya, that is exactly what I do with mine. I have a lot of these on my walls since most are finished, but then i have many that are not finished that are also hung up around the house just so i can look at them and listen to them when they and me are ready to proceed. Sometimes I start off with the clear vision but often it just comes as i paint. It really is my favorite thing to do, but I am not ready to sell them or make a living off of them, just still too personal to me. I paint for me only and really to not want the pressure of doing it for any other reason.
I too enjoy playing with different materials. Exploring and experimentation makes art so enjoyable to me! You are a lot like me in where I can have a canvas hanging up for several years and then finish it with just the right spark of ideas. My walls are covered with projects that I am puzzled about. They speak to me when they have input.

thanks! I used acrylics modeling medium and and swirled it with the end of the paint brush. I had this canvas laying around for years, I had used glues and tissue paper and made it all antique looking and it kind of looked like a cracked wall. I had it like that for at least 4-5 years unfinished and never saw what it was supposed to be, then I started playing with all the acrylic mediums and he was born. I wish the pic was better, he is very serene.
