Welcome to the community Steven. You certainly will enjoy your journey this time around and the end result will be beautiful healthy dreadlocks that are lightweight and will dance in the wind for you. Here is a map of our water type so you will know the best dread shampoo or bar to use....peace

Sea salt is great for your locks. No problem at all with using it. It's the leaving it in that's the problem. Sea salt, and any other salt stays in your hair, and on your scalp, after the water dries. When this happens, it sucks moisture out of your hair and scalp, making your hair brittle, and over drying your skin. If your scalp hasn't gotten itchy yet, you're lucky. But it will over time. And the itchiness can become unbearable as your skin can't remoisturize itself fast enough. This can cause serious dandruff and other scalp problems like excess sebum excretion

Welcome. Just checking, but when you use sea salt, do you make sure to wash it out within a few hours? it should never be left in long term
