Welcome to the communtiy and to your new beginning to mature dreadlocks. You will have a fun and wild journey with many changes in the next year, enjoy them. I also did T&R and posted tips: (Dead URL) http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect/a>

What are you washing with? If you would like to use a non touch method: (Dead URL) http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect/a>

Please ask any questions you have, non are silly, so ask away. The dreaducation section at the top of the site has great tips also.....below is a map so you can see your water type. Soft water lets all dread shampoo or bars work, hard water the selection is limited, so if you have hard, we can help you...peace

Hi there Emily, welcome to the community. Glad you learned about all the terrible methods out there, it really is a shame that they are available. Did you ever get the wax out of your dreads? It does stay in for life if not removed, we can help you if you need it.....Hope you share a pic of your 4 year old dreads, love to see them...peace
