stop seperating some, but not all the thin ones  let them combine into thicker congos  the thick dreads add body and volume while thin ones fill in the gaps between  and give the illusion of having more hair, so let them havge a range off sizes, afew thick,  a dozen medium and quite a few thin..

Hey Soaring Eagle!!! I haven't been on this site in 6 months. My dreads are roughly 19 months old now. There has been so many changes since the last time I was on this page. I have a question for you... So when I hit about 16 months I was really loving the way my locks were looking (keepp in mind this is my first set of locks). They have since, over the last 3-4 months or so have gotten pretty tight. The problem is that now I don't have the body that I had before my locks really tightened up. I regret allowing some of my dreads to be super small, I thought they would look better. Now I'm wishing they were thicker. PLEEEEZ tell me the smaller ones are going to fill out and get larger in diameter. Part of me regrets doing the natural/neglect method. I just want to be ables to leave my hair down with my locks nice and full instead of these small tight locks. Anything you can tell me to help would be great, I especially love reading your stories about the beginning of having maturing dreads. I am giving myself 2 full years NO MATTER HOW THEY LOOK cuz I didn't come this far for nothing and I know the worst of it is basically over...i hope. I'd love some input if you have time. Thank you...PEACE & LOVE

Hey, gm to all...I have a question. My dreads are a year old this month, and it seems as though they have made no progress since my 10th month. All of my hair is in a lock in one way or another (with the exception of some fly-aways here and there) but I have some that are only knotted up half way and then I have other locks that lock literally all the way up to my scalp. I know that using the "neglect" or "free-form" method that they will never all be the same and I like that. I just want to know how I will know when they are completely mature. And at this point I'm washing them about 1x/week...Any suggestions about washing them and about their maturity???? I have a good friend who is a barber and knows how to crochette (sp?) and he keeps telling me they will never look "right"...whatever that means, without having the ones that aren't locked all the way up without some form of help.

I am happy to be back ... I love the new improved site. Its easier to for people like myself who are not that computer savy. This is by far the best dreadlock site I've been on. Kudos to Soaring Eagle and whomever else helped him to improve it. So anyway, I just want to say hello and I'm so happy to be part of your online community. :-)
