Hey all. :)

I've had a lot of fun talking about all things dread-like here over the past few months. Definitely learned more about caring for dreadlocks here than I have from any other website, or even from any of the hairdressers I spoke with before resorting to the Internet. It seems like hairdressers -- and people in general, really -- are vvvvery misinformed when it comes to this particular hairstyle (and I know it's more than a hairstyle for most people here, myself included, but I'm referring to it as this right now for simplicity's sake). Last summer, I actually tried to make an appointment at a salon to get my hair partially dreaded, kinda like how it is now, actually, except the dreads would have been or the TnR variety. She flat-out REFUSED to do my hair because, in her opinion, "it wouldn't look right." Guess it was a blessing in disguise, in hindsight. I kept my $250 and decided to go natural shortly after. As of today, I'm nearly half a year into my journey, my hair is partially dreaded, and I think it looks just fine thankyouverymuch! I talked to a few other folk in the hair/beauty department after my decision to go natural, and it was all a waste of breath. It's just funny how no one seems to know what real dreadlocks are today. And kind of sad, too.

OKAY, now for the actual point of this post. I do enjoy all the hair chat; however, I like talking about other things as well! Dreading definitely isn't my only interest, and I'm sure your lives don't revolve around it, either. Where do you go to talk about everything else? Is there a certain group or thread? Let me know! I'm at a very lonely point in my life right now, so I always enjoy a good conversation...

I have this affinity for terrible puns. And lame jokes in general. I'm four at heart.

What's green and has four wheels?
A frog.

I lied about the wheels.

You guys ever see the movie Wanderlust? funny funny funny. A New York couple accidentally end up in a commune for hippies. Paul Rudd, Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux. I never knew she made a movie like this. If ever I recommend a movie to anyone on this site, this would be the one.

Bahahaha, nice drunken penguin there. You guys are right though. I could stand to talk to more people, both online here and in real life. Hopefully I haven't forgotten how.

That does happen to many, no shows suck. I don't know why, but it always makes us feel stupid and hurt. Don't want you to feel like an idiot on this site at all, want you to enjoy it here, so I totally understand.

I am glad I live in the country, no drunkards, just really loud cows and early to rise chickens at the nearby farms...Have a great evening...Peace

Noodle -- Right?! My gosh, do drunkards push my buttons like none other. Alcoholism runs in my family, and one thing I cannot STAND is drunken obnoxiousness. There's plenty of that going on outside my window on weekends, and ugh...I ain't got time for that, haha.

Barrellady -- So, don't get me wrong -- that's a genius idea. However, I try doing things like that once in awhile. Not online of course, but in real life. Once in awhile, I'll be in an especially good mood and try to plan a fun outing. I'll invite the handful of people I've spoken to...and EVERYONE will flake on me. Every time. It's happened countless times, and I'm completely aware of the fact that my personality type isn't conducive to friendships, but it still kinda leaves me crestfallen. =/ Feels like I have some sort of phobia now. I'm so afraid of getting blown off now that I just don't plan social things. If I made a group like that and barely anyone joined, I'd feel like an idiot. -.- I will think about it though.

Hi Laura. Here is an idea for ya. Start a group and call it " Laura's Chat Room-A Social Gathering" or something like that. Was there ever some awesome name you always liked, or a phrase?, you can use that. After you title it, you can make a post blurb describing your group and just add in that it's a drug free/ dread free group. If you have friends on this site, invite them to join your group. If you send me an invite, I'll join and talk about a random subject. Yeah, I hate it when others start talking about drugs on chat too. Noodle-Doo will have a place to talk about his Greyhounds. ....Peace
