Welcome to the community Julie, so happy for you that you decided to have the dreads you always pinned for. Nice to have someone else in their 50's on here. You came to the right place to learn how to keep them for life, keeping them healthy and strong. First, no more hooks, no matter how nice you are to your sections, it will still cause breaks. Just let them be, let them go through the changes they will, and in a couple of years they will mature and lock up, giving you the ones you wanted, all without maintaining them....Wash with a good dread shampoo or bar to keep them residue free:....peace

if u crochet once u delay dreading by 6 months asnd cauyse extreme harm

if u crochet weekly for a year you will weaken them to the point of falling off in the shower

if u crochet once a month fir 3 months it can take a year or longer to recover and begin to ddread right

crochet is simply 1 of the worse things u can do to dreads
