yeah, I have small children with very grabby hands, frankly- im terrified of something that big hanging form my ear, I barely wear normal earings for the same reason
I tore my lobes a few times when stretching. If you do it very slowly, you should be fine. I gauged from a 10g to a 2g in 1 sitting. I don't recommend that. I got to a 00g before I decided to just take them out. They shrank to a 6g, but never smaller. I'm up to 1/2" now. I don't know how it'd feel to have something that huge dangle from my ear. I'm more of a tunnel person. I just found these clear silicone ones that let you see how big the hole is without seeing the earring at all. It's just a gaping hole. So cool
well, These are actually fake, as I like the look but cant stretch my ears due to tearing problems. HOWEVER, it is not that hard to do gauges if you use a pair you already own for guidance, and i am pretty sure you can find a gauge chart online to help as well. youtube has several polymer clay tutorials for real gauges as well, so there are a bunch of resources. plus it it pretty dang easy to do-easier than fake gauges that is for sure, several steps can be cut right out if they are real and you dont need the studs so its cheaper !

Very cool. How'd you get the gauge right? Or is it justapproximate?
polymer clay. I saw a tutorial and made some.
Love the earrings. What are they made of?
