Hey yall I need some good advice and even more support these days. Let me start by saying this. My scalp is making me NUTS!! When I was a baby I had cradlecap and as I got older it went away but I still had pretty bad dandruff my whole life. I know that when you take the plunge into the dreadlock world dandruff occures. I also understant that since im not brushing my scalp that my dandruff will layer up and get worse.I guess what im fixing to say is that my SEVERE dandruff is pushing my to want to brush out my locks. This is bad yall!! I orderd some rosemary and lavender oils because I hear that will work, but will it really fix a severe case of chunky thick flaky dandruff?!?!?

Ok now that thats off my chest and I know help will comment soon Ill leave it at that. Please yall I dont want to get rid of my locks.

ASPRIN crushed up and made into a paste applied to your scalp or mixed in with baking soda will remove dandruff buildup

Hm, I feel ya. I think in my case it is just the adjustment from nasty chemical shampoos combined with hot and humid weather. I found a nice recipe for a deep cleanse that I did tonight because my scalp was driving me nuts. I posted it on my blog. Hang in there-- I have confidence that we will both break through soon and that our scalps have the ability to adjust.

Dandruff can also be a symptom of internal issues, possibly kidney stress or auto immune issues. Do some research on this yourself, then ask some pointed questions to your doctor (they often don't like us knowing about our bodies, but best to go prepared). Make sure your water is clean and drink enough of it, reduce dietary toxins... The face and head will often show us what's going on inside.

if u use bs make sure its 1/2 cup per 5 cups maybe 1/4 teaspoon or il less jojoba 10 drops teatree 30 rosemary if u got lavender add 20 or 30 of that if u got lemongrass or peperment add maybe 20 or 30 of each

how old are the dreads

if weeks after rinsing that out use 2 or 3 tablespoons acv to 5 or more cups rinse right away if 6 months or so use almost 14 cup soap 30 sec to a min

if a year or more use 1/2 cup soak 3 min

I didn't have dandruff as bad as you describe but the itching was effing intense!! You've tried baking soda and acv?? Maybe try it again using this ration: 1/2cup bs dissolved in 5 cups water with about 20 drops tea tree and 10-20 drops rosemary. Pour that over your head several times (i use 2 containers one to catch the runoff while leaning over the tub), in between pourings massage your scalp with your finger tips, not your nails. This feels really good on itchy scalp and it'll help lift up cakey dandruff. Let that sit for 20-30 minutes, feel free to finger-tip itch as needed. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. THEN (always always always) 2 tablespoons acv in 4 cups water with about 20 drops lavender. Pour that over your head a couple times then rinse with water as cold as you can tolerate. Try that for a couple weeks and see how it works. That's all I got! Good luck!
