welcome but u know dhhq and knottyboy destroy dreads and are a scam yea your "pleased with them" because they convince you theres no other way to get dreads and actualy what they create looks sorta like dreads (only stiffer and gross) but the fact is the wax prevents them from ever dreading right and almost al;l are cut after only 3 years

if u used their crap u must remove ot it will cause your dreads to hey are a scam..and a joke and thats why nearly all dreadheads except newbies avoid them like the plague

Welcome. Many people love KB and DHHQ. They are very pleased with how their hair looks like locks right away. The problem with both companies is that they are selling products that prevent locks from ever forming. And then selling products to clean out the stuff that was preventing your locks from forming.

Wax only makes your hair stick together to look like locks. But because it doesn't allow your hair to loop and knot, dreadlocks never mature. They never progress passed the first day you back combed and applied wax. And because wax is a hydrocarbon, it NEVER washes out in normal soap and water. It requires a detergent to get it out. Water that gets trapped inside your locks starts to cause your hair to rot and grow mold from the inside out.

They make their products smell nice because it covers up the smell of swamp. Eventually, you won't be able to cover up that smell.

The only way to grow locks is to allow them to get tangled and loopy. You don't have to go the neglect method, but they have to be clean of wax and products. And no tools should ever be used to "tighten" your roots. These tools only make people go balds and weaken their locks

Welcome. Knotty Boy and DHHQ are scams. The wax they advise is literally one of the worst things you can put into dreads. If you want to keep your hair for a long time, you should remove the wax immediately. You can buy wax-b-gone or use dish detergent. The wax-b-gone will take fewer treatments, but still a good number will be needed.

Welcome to the community. When backcombing, try to make sure that the sections are all different sizes and no bigger than one square inch. Then let them do what they want, even if they fall apart. All you have to do is wash andseparate.
