I wash about once a week, and find that they all just mat up in the back of my head (like right where I sleep on it) but I didn't know that I didn't have to separate all the way down to the scalp. thanks for the info!
Welcome. How often do you wash them? Most people don't need to separate more than once a week. Doing it too often can sometimes cause progress to slow down, or cause damage.
You only need to separate when the body if the locks start to tangle together. If the roots are tangling, let them. Yu never need to separate all the way to your scalp
