This bread is super easy and sooo yummy! It's a regular on our dinner table
1t. Honey or real Maple syrup
1 1/2 C. Warm water
4-5 C. Flour
1/4 C. Olive oil
Dissolve yeast and sweetener in 1/2 C of the warm water, let sit for about 5 min. Add remaining ingredients and knead together. Let rise covered for one hour. Punch down and shape into small rounds and make indentations with the tips of your fingers (you want the olive oil to pool in these indentations) Top with course sea salt and fresh herbs (Thinly sliced tomatoes or squash are great!) Drizzle with olive oil and bake at 425 for 10 min, reduce heat to 400 and bake another 10 min.
it can also be used as a pizza crust (after it rises and you punch it down roll it out thin, poke holes with a fork to prevent a bread balloon and bake for 10 min before adding sauce and toppings, bake till edges of crust are brown).
