Julie, no one is trying to be hateful. They really have your best interests at heart. I agree that there are other sites that say don't wash, interlocking is good and will actually explain how to crochet your dreads. This site is different. Soaring Eagle started this site several years ago to inform people on how to care for your dreads in a natural healthy and uncomplicated way. This site is againstmaintenance. It is against wax, locticians and anything else that will or can harm your dreads. Many people have come to this site singing the same song that you are now.....and then they come back saying "oh sorry, I was wrong. I should have listened." All these guys are doing is trying to help you. The way I see it is.....it is your hair. You can treat it anyway that you want. But If you want to keep your dreads for many many years....please listen to what they are trying to tell you. If it is a fad for you and you don't plan on keeping them do what ever you want. Cause you can always cut them off or comb them out. My locks are a part of me...I would never do anything to abuse them. I am keeping mine for the rest of my life, so of course I would never ever crochet them. Do whatever YOU want, Just keep in mind what this site is dedicated to.
Believe it or not, sweetie pie, I'm not basing my opinions on this one event. I base them on my experience of having been a teenager and felt the effects of maturation. That, and my dealings with the numerous teenagers in my family and others I have encountered. You, as it turns out just happen to be solidifying my opinion and helping me prove my point.
thats just stupid to say that adam. really. only because i dont believe you in this one thing you claim that the most teenagers dont listen to anyone and anything, they think that they know everything and have seen everything of the world...really, think first and then speak.
No, im sorry for you if you dont here it, but i just tried, you can here it clearly.
and like i said, if you do it wrong, you propably will loose your dreads. you now, on some finnish pages all claim that you can not wash your dreads and stuff. really, almost all. and on other pages they tell different stuff. i think the best way to form your own view is to hear as many opinions as possible and think your self, make your own experience and then make your own opinion.

There is no talking to some people, SE. Teenagers, especially, seem to know and have seen it all.
Take care, Julie.
just try to brake only one hair and listen... you should hear it.
and if i pull the hair strong enough it comes out and i feel it coming out of my scalp. it is not a knot.
Actually im not destroying them, im sorry.
