Julie, no one is trying to be hateful. They really have your best interests at heart. I agree that there are other sites that say don't wash, interlocking is good and will actually explain how to crochet your dreads. This site is different. Soaring Eagle started this site several years ago to inform people on how to care for your dreads in a natural healthy and uncomplicated way. This site is againstmaintenance. It is against wax, locticians and anything else that will or can harm your dreads. Many people have come to this site singing the same song that you are now.....and then they come back saying "oh sorry, I was wrong. I should have listened." All these guys are doing is trying to help you. The way I see it is.....it is your hair. You can treat it anyway that you want. But If you want to keep your dreads for many many years....please listen to what they are trying to tell you. If it is a fad for you and you don't plan on keeping them do what ever you want. Cause you can always cut them off or comb them out. My locks are a part of me...I would never do anything to abuse them. I am keeping mine for the rest of my life, so of course I would never ever crochet them. Do whatever YOU want, Just keep in mind what this site is dedicated to.
doing it is doing it wrong thats the point yes ppl lose dreads from doinmg it and yes you will too
theres no diferenece between how u do it and how the ppl who lose dreads do it
crochet is crochet you are ruining them and your aware that yoju are but stuburnly refuse to believe that you too will lose your dreads
its the same with how teenagers take heroin and think others may get addicted but im bnot f=going to
your playing with fire your ruininbg them
and its only a matter of time
I should add a thank you.
Believe it or not, sweetie pie, I'm not basing my opinions on this one event. I base them on my experience of having been a teenager and felt the effects of maturation. That, and my dealings with the numerous teenagers in my family and others I have encountered. You, as it turns out just happen to be solidifying my opinion and helping me prove my point.
thats just stupid to say that adam. really. only because i dont believe you in this one thing you claim that the most teenagers dont listen to anyone and anything, they think that they know everything and have seen everything of the world...really, think first and then speak.
No, im sorry for you if you dont here it, but i just tried, you can here it clearly.
and like i said, if you do it wrong, you propably will loose your dreads. you now, on some finnish pages all claim that you can not wash your dreads and stuff. really, almost all. and on other pages they tell different stuff. i think the best way to form your own view is to hear as many opinions as possible and think your self, make your own experience and then make your own opinion.
u should? really/ but you dont u never hear a single hair breaking im sorry but your wrong
and if it came out it would be the whole dread fallo[ing off it would=nt just cpme oiut its locked in by knots
well lets hope your smarter with your 2nd set cause this sesets not going to last if you dont start believing ppl when they tell you how horible it is do u treally tyink every sinl]=gle person here says that to just pick on yoy? no..its the indespiutable truth
u will learn the hard way then you wu]=ill have to start over
or you can prove it to youirself by stopping entirely for a full year and see for yourself how much hasrm youve done
There is no talking to some people, SE. Teenagers, especially, seem to know and have seen it all.
Take care, Julie.
just try to brake only one hair and listen... you should hear it.
and if i pull the hair strong enough it comes out and i feel it coming out of my scalp. it is not a knot.
Actually im not destroying them, im sorry.
you have no clue how they are doing till they fall off dont u get it?
and your not preventing loops and froizz just delaying it..and delaying dreading they will not dread at all untill a yearor more after u stop since u did it so li]=ong u will get loops and frizz when they loosen up enoiugh to not stand straight up
how can they dread when they asre so severely over tightened?
how are they confortable lik that
hair v=breaking makes nko audible sound u cant hear a thung till 10-20 or more break all at the same time
watch that guy skillteachers vids his wifes dreads are as thick as yours he picksw 1 up..and it cfalls ro]=ight off in his hand.. no visible signs of thinning or weake ning at all the damage is internal u cant see it then he claimed it broke cauise he dodnt crochet it enough!
everytine i u crochet they get weaker
u pull on iy ot hurts cause your pulling a hair thats onnected to a haor by a knot..not by itself when you break 12 inches into 2 5 inches u weaken it by 1/2 brwsalk it into 12 1 inch they are very weak but might hold together breal[pk em sma,ll,er then an inch and they fall off
to lose a dread u luteraly have to break ebery hair into peices sma,,er then an inch crochet does that eventualy
u should bevber5 ever ever croxchet at all
you are destroying them
