I started my dreads in September of 2013. I used the backcomb method to start. In the first couple of months I used wax and a crochet hook. After learning more about natural hair I stopped using those harmful methods. Luckily, those early methods did not create any long-term damage becase the sections were still very loose and immature. I am grateful to have found people out there that make an effort to inform others about healthy habits with dreading.
