Hey! My name is Josh, I started my dread journey almost 2 weeks ago! I used the twist and rip method, my hair was very curly before dreading. I was just wanting to tell you all that I'm documenting my dread journey on youtube, my account is JoshsDreads. I just wanted to let all of you know, so check me out if you want. I researched dreads for around 2 years before I actually did them to know if it was really something I wanted to commit myself to, so I know a lot of the general information. Some things are becoming more apparent to me even through this short amount of time having them, because you can only learn so much about dreads before actuallyexperiencing them for yourself! If you all have any general advice I'd greatly appreciate any help! Thanks and happy dreading! :D

well dreadheadhq shamopoo is highly toxic garbage its not even a dread shampoo it was originaly created by jonnys daddy as a hunting shampoo (hence no scent)

the root rubbing pulls hairs rigyt out odf the scalp severely weakening the roots the roots need no9 help at all only yime

dont rush em

compare dhhq ingredients (ignore his claim it doesnt cause cancer..it does as well as dandruff psoriasis hair loss)

compare those ingredients to www.dreadlockshampoo.com

thats what a real dread shampoo should loook like

Well, it really was mainly on youtube for a while. Just watching peoples dread videos and seeing their insight on various things. Then on this site too, and generally wherever I could get info. I'm not using wax, or any other products, nor will I in the future. I wash with dreadheadhq residue free shampoo, and I'm washing once a week. I haven't used a crochet hook, and don't really plan to. For future reference I know interlocking loose roots from new growth isn't actually dreading the new growth, just twisting it into itself, and to clockwise rub instead to help the hair knot up. I plan to spray sea-salt water on my dreads to help them tighten once I can get my hands on a spray bottle. I know dreads have to just run their course, and as long as they remain sectioned they'll tighten and lock over time. I don't really know what else to go over. So there's generally what I know condensed into a little paragraph.

well whered u research/

youtubes the worse place ..well except all the others haha

out of all the sites out there on dreads theres only a very small handfull that u can trust for good honnest info and not just scams (we just happen to be the biggest and best but there aee 1 or 3 others that arent horible)

so start by reading the dreaducation page and lets go over what u think u learned (pre dread) just to make sure its pretty accurate and u should start a timeline here too
