about once or twice a week i have been using a residue free shampoo and spraying on the sea salt and lime after washing now im just going to wash and seperate them and let them do the rest thank you all for your adviceit has helped heaps xo
Welcome. Lime is a citric acid. So is lemon. Both of which degrades your hair. It's stronger than vinegar, and it seeps into your hair shaft and breaks down your hair from the inside out. People use either juice to lighten their hair. But that lightening,is due to their hair being destroyed.
Also, you need to wash with a shampoo. Just sea salt and water isn't enough. That won't strip any dirt of oil from your hair or scalp. Are you using any type of soap?
Welcome!! It's good you're not going to use any citric acids. They dry out your hair, making it very brittle and fragile. Like Change said, just let them grow. Wash and separate, decorate if you feel like it. That's all that dreads require.

Welcome. I'm in Darwin's posse, too.
Wax actually prevents locks from forming and creates the perfect environment for mold. So it's a good thing you are going the natural method this time
