separate while wet, do it as often as needed but no more often then that..some that's weekly or monthly or several times a day yours wont need it all that often\
just pull the dreads away from eachother to separate
My hair is thin, straight and not the best for dreading but that hasn't stopped me from waiting patiently for the past year until my dreads are finally starting to come in. My hair is shoulder length the back and I've had a knot forming there for about a week. Today I finally took the task of separation.it was annoying because a bunch hairs that I didn't want in the knot were there any ways so I just had to pull them out of the soon to be dread. I would like some advice separating because I can all ready tell that it's going to the biggest pain of having locs. How often should I separate? Would it help to wrap the dread with some sort of string? Is it better or worse to separate with wet hair?
Any advice would be highly appreciated, thanks.

welcome you should wash with a dread shampoo
your not washing only conditioning (acv is conditioning) that's why its only now starting to dread
if you wash often with a dred shampoo it will dread a lot faster
