It's never too soon. Just be careful what you use. Beads should not be so tight that they choke your section enough to create weak spots. If you use thread, or hemp, use open stitch patterns.

lol. Yeah, people tend to say that it takes a while, but in their minds like "a while" means a few months. Until you're about 6 months in and finally start to see them not come unraveled a bit every time you shower, you don't see the big picture.

The 4th month tends to be the messiest for most people. So when your hair looks like a rats nest in a few months, don't freak out. I have a few vids on my page that show how to separate congos

They should be loose at this point. And will continue to get looser after your first few washes. They are only 3 days old. If you look at them on terms of how a child develops, you'd have a collection of cells that a mother doesn't even know she's pregnant yet with. 3 days old locks are nothing in the realm of how it takes, on average, 1-2 years, for mature locks to form.

Back combing and TnR are just methods to create a blueprint of where you want your locks to be. They don't create lasting knots at all. For those knots to forms, what you started with need to loosen up and untangle so that the hair can start winding around itself and knotting
