Welcome. There's nothing you should do to maintain them. Just wash and sleep and separate. Dreadlocks are the easiest hairstyle. They take care of themselves. No wax, gels, or crocheting. Anything you may think about going to a salon for will only damage your hair and make your locks weak and brittle
Welcome and good luck on your journey! I would try to take out those bands asap, whenever I first started my dreads I kept mine in for one week and whenever I was taking them out I noticed some had already started melting into my hair and i had to work hard to get them out. Your dreads are starting out great, I'd hate to see them ruined by elastics!
welcome to the site! if you still have the rubber bands in take them out befor they get stuck. they can melt into your hair or get sucked in. sounds like you have a hairtype that would dread on its own just fine! no need to do anything else to em just let em go and they dread on their own. it truly is a humbling experience, i like where your heads at brother. happy dreading!
