Starting new dreads in 2 weeks..

Hey...so I had locks before but went about it all wrong with the wrong attitude which resulted in me needing to start them over...which I am now about to do. I'm putting them in...so not going the natural route.. I know my impatient self. But..once I get them started I want to mess with them as little as possible to let them grow how they wanna grow. Advice for getting 'em started on down the right path?!
