Welcome. Braids take a lot long to become locks. They can mat in their braid, but they won't actually be locks. They will always have a braided look to them. There's nothing wrong with this. But if you want them to knot, they will need time to untangle in order to retangle into locks

welcome but braids to locks is slower then just freeforming cause they have to loosen as braids enough to tangle as locks 1st
